Story behind the song
I wrote Common Head Cold Blues while out West last November; needless to say, a nasty head cold was the genesis. It's a forray into the 12-bar blues...the twist here is that this version was recorded live in our bathroom on a nylon string classical guitar with some slapping and stomping. Gabe caught this on his fine field sound equipment and his energy added to the fun. Hope you enjoy this simple take as much as we enjoyed recording it. My wife, Sharon, is the one with the perpetual "pocket full of Kleenex (and most of them ARE used!).
