Way immigrated with her family to Canada in 1976 and has resided in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, since a young age. She is a Canadian citizen who considers Canada to be her home, and is very proud of it. Her love for music drew her to write songs at the age of thirteen. And to this day, she remains to do so with a devoted passion. Just to name a few, her major influences are; Elvis Presley, Anne Murray, Paul Anka, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and many more.
