We all go through difficult times, and it can be difficult to keep the head above water. But no condition is permanent. Better days are ahead!

I'm more of a songwriter than a performer...it's the creative writing process I love. This is a collection of basement song demos I've assembled over the past few years. Most are pretty simple & straightforward, usually a couple of acoustic guitar tracks and vocal. I'll be adding songs as time allows. They tend to be family or nature-oriented, and focus on parenting, family life and related foibles. Hope you're into it. Also, I do commercial voice overs. If you're in need of a smooth baritone voice with distinctive tone and balance, I'd be yer guy. ;-) You can find me online at VoicesOnCall.com & Voice123.com. I'm also a freelance advertising/marketing copywriter, broadcast producer and strategist. Stop by my www.timperrycreative.com if you're so inclined! and Audio Production for Any Size Project

Lyrics
To Better Days Timothy A. Perry ©2002 Verse 1: Mid June simmered in a wall of heat. Two quick showers in nine long weeks. The field turned brown and the creek ran low. Holdin’ my breath on a breeze to blow. When the rain showed up in the western sky, My heart let out a mighty sigh, Ohhhhh….to better days. Chorus: To better days, when sleep comes easy To better days, just down the pike Where sadness beats a quick retreat And suffering takes a hike. To simply treasure simple pleasures, To a lifting of the haze Ohhhhh….to better days. Verse 2: Lost my job and my daily bread. Took a blindside hit upside the head. A man’s gotta work, gotta take the reins As much for his heart as his pocket change. About the time, I feared to lose it all, It turned around and I got the call, Ohhhhhh….to better days. Chorus: To better days, when sleep comes easy To better days, just down the pike Where sadness beats a quick retreat And suffering takes a hike. To simply treasure simple pleasures, To a lifting of the haze Ohhhhh….to better days. Verse 3: Middle class life gave a sign to me I’m living in free time poverty. Too much work and too little joy. Feeling like nothing but an errand boy. As I watch my life wind thru its course It’s like I died ‘n came back as a quarter-horse. Oohhhhh….to better days! Chorus: To better days, when sleep comes easy To better days, just down the pike Where sadness beats a quick retreat And suffering takes a hike. To simply treasure simple pleasures, To a lifting of the haze Ohhhhh….to better days.
