I'm more of a songwriter than a performer...it's the creative writing process I love. This is a collection of basement song demos I've assembled over the past few years. Most are pretty simple & straightforward, usually a couple of acoustic guitar tracks and vocal. I'll be adding songs as time allows. They tend to be family or nature-oriented, and focus on parenting, family life and related foibles. Hope you're into it. Also, I do commercial voice overs. If you're in need of a smooth baritone voice with distinctive tone and balance, I'd be yer guy. ;-) You can find me online at VoicesOnCall.com & Voice123.com. I'm also a freelance advertising/marketing copywriter, broadcast producer and strategist. Stop by my www.timperrycreative.com if you're so inclined! and Audio Production for Any Size Project

Lyrics
This Ol’ Truck Timothy A. Perry © 2002 Verse 1: This ol’ truck was new, back in July of ’81. Parked down at the Motor Mall, gleamin’ in the sun. A gap-tooth man in polyester said “I’ll cut you a deal!” So I signed up on the bottom line And I got myself some wheels. Verse 2: Scratching out a living, trying to earn a buck. This Oklahoma hard-pan sure ain’t easy on a truck I beat on every horse that breathed beneath that dusty hood. I always asked too much of it, Just because I could. Chorus: This old truck’ll do anything I ask it to. Engine runs a little rough Spits out clouds of blue. And every time I think I should be driving something new, Well….This ol’ truck’ll do. Verse 3: One day I said, “Well that’s enough. I ain’t eatin’ no more dust” So I went and packed up this ol’ truck, to feed my wanderlust. I was howlin’ at a brighter moon, I was looking for a break. So I pulled around, put the pedal down and I, Gave my world a shake. Verse 4: I found out quick the city had no time for dusty boots. No place for faded Levis in a city full of suits. It didn’t have a bar and grill, just a buncha snotty pubs This ain’t no place for 4 wheel drive, No place for locking hubs. Bridge: I turned to this ol’ truck and said, “I’ll cut you a deal. If you take me safely home, I’ll keep dirt beneath your wheels. “ Chorus: This old truck’ll do anything I ask it to. Engine runs a little rough Spits out clouds of blue. And every time I think I should be driving something new, Well….This ol’ truck’ll do.
