Ahhhh...the joys of raising a daughter! When the boys come knocking is when it gets sticky...especially when the young lady in question is particularly fetching. Time to circle the wagons!

I'm more of a songwriter than a performer...it's the creative writing process I love. This is a collection of basement song demos I've assembled over the past few years. Most are pretty simple & straightforward, usually a couple of acoustic guitar tracks and vocal. I'll be adding songs as time allows. They tend to be family or nature-oriented, and focus on parenting, family life and related foibles. Hope you're into it. Also, I do commercial voice overs. If you're in need of a smooth baritone voice with distinctive tone and balance, I'd be yer guy. ;-) You can find me online at VoicesOnCall.com & Voice123.com. I'm also a freelance advertising/marketing copywriter, broadcast producer and strategist. Stop by my www.timperrycreative.com if you're so inclined! and Audio Production for Any Size Project

Lyrics
Ain’t Gettin’ Out Timothy A. Perry ©2002 Verse 1: It seems like only yesterday I held you on my knee. You’re growing up my darlin’, but you’re still a child to me. Your face grows more angelic with every passing day. But your heels keep getting higher, and so does my dismay. I never thought I’d ever have to vie for your affection Don’t worry dear, I swear that this is for your own protection…. Chorus: Got razor wire for barricades. Ain’t sparin’ no expense. ‘Lectrician’s here to line out that 220 thru the fence. The backhoe’s for the moat I’m diggin’ in around the house Those boys ain’t getting’ in…and you ain’t gettin’ out. Verse 2: Life was so much easier as Daddy’s little girl. Now every year I live in fear, my head is in a whirl You used to stick to me like glue, everywhere I’d roam Now the only thing you ever seem to stick to is the phone. So I have taken measures that you might think extreme But trust me they’re not nearly as barbaric as they seem. Verse 3: One day I caught a glimpse of some young buck who’d caught your eye. And I almost had a heart attack, I feared that I might die. I’d be lying if said I never wore his hungry look But knowing that you’re looking back explains the steps I took. He made my ears turn red and then my face turn grey as ash. What seventh grader ever has a right to a mustache? Bridge: If I should die tomorrow, you can get rid of all I’ve done. Otherwise you won’t be dating till you’re thirty-one! Those boys ain’t getting’ in…and you ain’t gettin’ out.
